The 1960s–1970s Collection – Geometries and Avant-garde represents a turning point in the glassmaking art of Luigi Mandruzzato, son of Beniamino Mandruzzato, heir to the great tradition of Murano glass.
Raised among the furnaces of Murano, Luigi absorbed the magic of fire and sand transformed into glass, but his vision looked forward: he wanted to give glass a new, more modern, more architectural language.
His creations reflect the strength of an era of change: the years of design, contemporary art, and great aesthetic revolutions.
The Encounter with Modern Art
Luigi Mandruzzato™’s destiny changed with his encounter with Pablo Picasso, the master who redefined the very concept of art.
From that moment, Luigi understood that glass could become pure geometry, a means to represent modernity and light like never before.
No longer just decoration, but design and structure, a new form of artistic language capable of communicating with the future.
His inspiration draws from great metropolises—New York, a symbol of verticality and boldness—where skyscrapers reflect light like sculptures of glass and steel.

Between the 1960s and 1970s, Luigi radically transformed the Murano tradition.
He abandoned soft, rounded lines to create a new aesthetic of clean cuts, sharp angles, and faceted surfaces.
This gave rise to the famous faceted Mandruzzato™ vases, icons of contemporary design and symbols of boundless modernity.
