The Amphora vase is an artistic Murano glass creation by Beniamino Mandruzzato, master glassmaker and founder of the historic family glassworks. Part of the Giardini Collection, founded in the 1950s, this amphora stands out for its slender, fluid shape, inspired by the natural movement of water.
Crafted entirely by hand using traditional furnace-blown glass and cold-cut diamond-cutting techniques, each amphora is unique. The sides feature a decorative pattern that evokes the rippling surface of water, with ever-changing plays of light reflecting off the curved lines of the object.
The engravings create a dynamic, organic effect, reminiscent of the gibigiane, those dancing reflections that Beniamino loved to observe in the Venetian lagoon. The design is also inspired by the gondola’s forcole (forcolas), functional yet timelessly elegant elements from which the master drew innovative shapes and volumes.
